The Society for Creative Satisfaction launched Agni-Samadhi, a narrative poem by poet Vimal Mehra, at a special event held at Bal Niketan School in Jodhpur. The poem honors the courage and sacrifice of the people of Chittorgarh during its first Saka and Jauhar.
The event was led by senior critic Dr. Ramakant Sharma, with Dr. Haridas Vyas and storyteller Hari Prakash Rathi as special guests. Society president Dr. Sunil Mathur and secretary Kamal Sharma also spoke, emphasizing the organization’s contributions to literature as it approaches its silver jubilee.
During the event, Mehra was honored with traditional accolades, followed by a recitation of excerpts from Agni-Samadhi.
Dr. Vyas praised the poem’s emotional depth, noting the importance of balancing metrical precision with storytelling. Rathi commended the narrative for preserving India’s oral tradition, calling Mehra’s work “a treasure for every Indian household.”
Mehra, a renowned poet, has authored several collections, including Gaa mere mann gaa. His works are widely published, solidifying his role as a prominent figure in India’s literary scene.
