Nick Flynn & Kelan Nee at 14 Gold Street Series

On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, the North Kingstown Free Library will host the 14 Gold Street Series, featuring poets Nick Flynn and Kelan Nee. The event, part of the Writers Live series, begins at 5:30 PM at the library, located at 100 Boone Street.

Nick Flynn is an award-winning American writer, known for his work as a poet, playwright, and memoirist. He has authored 13 books, including six poetry collections, a play, and four memoirs. His 2004 memoir was adapted into a film starring Robert De Niro and Julianne Moore. Since 2004, Flynn has taught creative writing at the University of Houston. His latest poetry book, Low (2023), will be available for sale and signing after the event.

Kelan Nee, a student of Flynn’s, is the winner of the 2023 Vassar Miller Prize in Poetry for his debut collection, Felling (2024). Copies of Low will also be available for purchase and signing following the program.
