Kansas Poet Laureate Traci Brimhall Talks Poetry and New Book

Kansas Poet Laureate Traci Brimhall is discussing poetry and her latest book, Love Prodigal, in a special segment. She is also inviting listeners to participate in a creative challenge by writing and submitting a “Dear Kansas” letter-poem in celebration of Kansas Day.

Brimhall’s instructions for the challenge: Take a walk, observe five things using your senses (taste is optional), and then write a letter to “Dear Kansas” based on those observations. Listeners are encouraged to submit their “Dear Kansas” letter-poem to Kansas Public Radio, where it may be read on air.
