The Guam Council on the Arts & Humanities Agency is hosting the 4th Annual Guam Poetry Out Loud competition, marking 20 years of the national program.
Poetry Out Loud, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts, encourages high school students (grades 9-12) to explore and perform powerful poetry. The program focuses on memorization and performance to help students connect with poetry.
The winners of the Guam competition will represent the island at the National Poetry Out Loud Finals in Washington, D.C., from May 5-7, 2025, where they will compete against students from 54 states and territories.
The deadline for school registration has been extended to Friday, January 10, 2025.
