Local Veteran Finds Healing Through Poetry

by Henry
Angie Lupie

A local veteran is using poetry to support others in the veteran community. Angie Lupie, who was injured in Iraq, is set to release a book of poetry and short stories.

Her book, titled The Sandbox, reflects her personal experiences and offers encouragement to fellow veterans. Through the book and her new website, Lupie hopes to build a supportive community for those with similar life experiences.

“I always say, ‘I can’t be in the military anymore, so I still have to do something and give back,’” she shared. “The more you do, the easier it is to get out of bed, and my reason is to help my comrades.”

The Sandbox will be released on January 17. Half of the proceeds from the book will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
