As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day approaches, a series of events are planned to honor his legacy.
For 40 years, Topeka’s Living The Dream Inc. has organized events to celebrate the life and impact of Dr. King.
On Tuesday, the organization hosted the 18th annual poetry competition at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library. The event was open to students in grades five through twelve.
Students from across the area shared their poems, each reflecting the spirit of Dr. King.
