Key West Poet Laureate Emily Schulten Weekley is inviting young residents of all experience levels to join free poetry workshops as part of the Seawall Society of Young Poets series.
The workshops are open to children aged 6 to 12 and will be held at local landmarks in Key West. Sessions for children aged 6 to 9 will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on three Saturdays: January 18 at Fort East Martello, January 25 at the Key West Lighthouse, and February 15, also at Fort East Martello.
Older children, aged 10 to 12, can attend workshops scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon on two Saturdays: March 8 at the Key West Lighthouse and March 15 at Fort East Martello.
These workshops aim to inspire creativity and nurture a love for poetry in the community’s youth.
