A ceremony was held on Thursday to honor the life and work of renowned poet and broadcaster Munawwar Qureshi. The event paid tribute to his significant contributions to literature and poetry.
Raja Shafqat, a well-known poet and civil society leader, spoke highly of Qureshi’s impact, noting that he had earned widespread recognition for his literary achievements. “Qureshi will be remembered for many years for his work as both a poet and a broadcaster,” Shafqat said.
The ceremony was attended by local poets and writers. Sohail Faiz praised Qureshi for presenting a unique perspective through his poetry and literary programs. “Qureshi has left behind many followers in the world of poetry,” Faiz remarked, adding that Qureshi also created impactful radio programs.
Khalid Saeed highlighted the emotional depth of Qureshi’s poetry, which resonated with many people. He urged educational institutions to conduct research on Qureshi’s literary work to preserve and further understand his contributions.
