Black History Month

Join us for a special evening of poetry to celebrate Black History Month, featuring MayaRose. The event will offer an opportunity to create, refine, and share spoken word poems in an inspiring and supportive environment.

Date: February 22, 2025

Location: Aquila’s Nest Vineyards Indoor Tasting Room

The first two hours will focus on fun writing warm-ups, ice-breakers, and thoughtful writing prompts designed to help you craft your own Black History Month poem. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced writer, you’ll gain confidence in performing your piece.

In the final 45 minutes, participants will have the chance to share their poems in an “Open Mic” style. Family, friends, and the community are encouraged to attend and join in celebrating creativity.

Please bring your own journal, or one will be provided. This event is open to ages 14 and up. Tickets are required for participants aged 18 and older. All levels are welcome, but space is limited.

Important Notes:

A minimum $10 drink purchase (plus tax and gratuity) per participant is required. This can be made at the vineyard before the event starts.

Wine is not included with the ticket.

Outside beverages, including water bottles, are not permitted.

The event will be held indoors in the grand piano wine tasting room.
