The Literary Forum Bandipora has announced plans to celebrate “Yom-e-Nazki” on January 5, 2025, to honor the legacy of the late Professor Rashid Nazki, a renowned literary figure and founder of Adabi Markaz Kamraz and the Literary Forum Bandipora (LFB).

An official spokesperson told Kashmir Convener that the event will mark the 10th death anniversary of Professor Nazki. “Yom-e-Nazki” will feature various literary activities, including the posthumous release of books written by Nazki. Papers discussing his contributions to promoting the Kashmiri language will also be presented. A detailed schedule of the activities will be released soon.

The forum also announced a one-day literary conference on December 14 at the auditorium of Higher Secondary School Bandipora. The conference will feature the launch of several books by acclaimed poet Rauf Gayal, along with research paper presentations and a mushaira (poetry recital) that will celebrate the region’s rich literary traditions.

The forum also welcomed new members to its ranks: distinguished writers Bashir Rahat, Ghulam Mohiuddin, and Ashfaq Ahmad. The addition was warmly acknowledged by all present.

In his address, Mubashir Saleem Nazki emphasized the forum’s dedication to encouraging young writers and preserving the region’s literary heritage. “The Literary Forum has been a guiding light for emerging writers while also ensuring that the region’s literary culture is maintained,” he said. “Educational institutions must actively support literary talent.”
