“Noche de Poetas,” or “Night of Poets,” will take place in Bay County on December 13 and 14, showcasing a celebration of storytelling in both English and Spanish. The event will feature poets, singer-songwriters, and comedians, with a focus on creative expression that avoids political or religious themes, according to Alfie Martin, CEO and founder of Teatro de las Artes.
“It’s not an open mic,” Martin explained. “All material must be pre-screened, and performers need to contact us beforehand.”
The two-night event will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday, December 13, at Havana Night Bar and Grill in Panama City Beach, and continue on Saturday, December 14, at Havana Night Restaurant and Bakery in Panama City. The audience will enjoy passionate performances, including a special appearance by Moni Botango, a professional tango singer from Argentina and Uruguay.
Attendees can also participate in a raffle to win artwork by Jorge Aguiar, the resident artist from Cuba, as well as custom “Noche de Poetas” T-shirts.
Tickets for the event are $29 and can be purchased at the restaurant or through Zelle at 818-402-9242.
Teatro de las Artes is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with over 20 years of promoting the arts across California and the Florida Panhandle.
