The San Antonio Zine Fest 2024 brought a wave of creativity to Sociedad Fraternal Cruz Blanca today, attracting art lovers from around the city.
The event ran from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the venue, where visitors enjoyed a variety of independent publications, known as zines.
Since its launch in 2017, the San Antonio Zine Fest has become a key platform for artists, writers, and creatives to showcase their work outside the constraints of traditional publishing and galleries. Zines, short for magazines, are independent publications that can feature poetry, comics, political commentary, personal stories, and experimental art.
“It’s appealing to many artists and writers because there are no limits to creativity,” said Natasha Hernandez, a festival organizer. “You can be as creative, political, or personal as you want. People love hearing unique stories from others, and we strive to create a space for that.”
