Hussain Manawer, a celebrated poet, writer, and mental health advocate, will headline a special evening of poetry and storytelling at Loves Café in Weston-super-Mare. Known for his collaborations with high-profile figures like Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry, Manawer’s work continues to resonate with audiences on themes of mental health, identity, and social justice.
The event, Together Through the Seasons: Stories of Resilience, will take place on Thursday, December 12, at Loves Café, 9 West Street, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1JR. Presented by Loves and supported by Super Culture, the evening promises an inspiring mix of poetry and performances that highlight stories of strength and unity.
Tickets for the event are priced at £10 for general admission, or £16.50, which includes an optional South Asian-inspired supper of dhal and samosa. Doors open at 7 pm, with supper served at 7:30 pm and the performance starting at 8 pm.
Manawer, a Sunday Times bestselling poet and author of Life is Sad and Beautiful, will be joined by a talented group of local artists. His impactful poetry explores deep themes of mental health and social justice, creating words that inspire and connect with audiences.
The line-up includes local poets such as Louise Hill Davis, known for her unique voice on identity and community, and Jaidah, a Weston-super-Mare-based poet whose works focus on resilience and personal growth. Jemma Hathaway, a poet from Plymouth, will also perform, sharing pieces from her widely praised book, I’ve Been Looking Everywhere for You.
