The Department of Culture (DOC) hosted a poetry evening at the courtyard of Sheikh Saeed bin Hamad Al Qasimi’s house in Kalba. The event was attended by Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Chief of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office in Khorfakkan, and Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in Kalba.
In an interview, Abdullah Ahmed Ali Al Houti, a media figure at the East Region Department of Culture, provided insights into the event, highlighting the DOC’s ongoing efforts to enhance the poetic and artistic appreciation of the community.
Al Houti shared that the evening featured prominent poets Abdullah Al Hadiya and Youssef Al Kamali, who recited a range of poems, including national and emotional pieces. The event also included performances by the Dibba Military Band, which showcased traditional folkloric dances such as Al Azzi, Razfa, and Yowla.
The event was further enriched by an art exhibition titled “Inspired by Nature,” featuring works by artists Azza Al Qubaisi and Ruaa Al Helou. The gathering drew a diverse audience, including officials, intellectuals, dignitaries, and residents of Kalba.
