On December 21, five poets will take the stage at Thryft Hub in Bukit Merah for a reading event, followed by an open mic session. The event will be held in the venue’s new space, surrounded by pre-loved books, clothes, and records.
The poets featured in Five Go To An Island include Theophilus Kwek, winner of the Cikada Prize, along with Jerrold Yam, Laetitia Keok, Anurak Saelaow, and Izyanti Asa’ari. The evening offers an opportunity for attendees to enjoy the works of these established poets, with open mic slots available for those who wish to perform. Participants can sign up for open-mic slots at the door.
In addition to the poetry reading, guests can browse Thryft Hub’s collection of second-hand goods, perfect for finding unique gifts or books ahead of the holiday season.
