Sharmila Nakra, an educationist, launched her debut poetry collection, Surkh Gulabo Ka Mausam, at the Punjab Press Club. The event, organized by LitSpark and Mahila Kavya Manch, brought together several literary figures to celebrate Nakra’s achievement.
Dr. Ram Murthy, a renowned poet, writer, editor, and critic, was the chief guest at the event. Bilingual poet and editor, Professor Seema Jain, attended as the special guest, while Professor Sarla Bhardwaj was the guest of honour.
Nakra, along with her family, warmly welcomed the guests, setting a friendly and inviting tone for the afternoon. Dr. Murthy, Professor Jain, and Professor Bhardwaj shared their thoughtful reviews of Surkh Gulabo Ka Mausam, praising Nakra’s poetic expression and encouraging her to continue her literary journey.
The event featured readings from Nakra’s collection, with presentations by representatives from LitSpark and Mahila Kavya Manch. Urdu poet Kimti Qaiser and poet Jagdish Rana also recited their works, adding to the event’s vibrant atmosphere.
