Laureates

The City of Murfreesboro is calling for applications for the 2025 Cultural Arts Laureates program. The term for the new laureates will run from February 2025 to February 2026.

This civic appointment recognizes individual artists for their contributions to the community. Program Objectives

Each laureate is expected to:

  • Advocate for cultural arts to a diverse audience in Murfreesboro.
  • Elevate the visibility of local artists and contemporary arts.
  • Leave a lasting artistic legacy through public exhibitions and civic events.

The laureates will also:

  • Participate in city events, exhibitions, and other public activities.
  • Submit semi-annual progress reports to the Cultural Arts Department.
  • Enrich the community by interacting with various audiences and raising awareness about the arts.

  • Exhibit work and engage with the community at selected civic events.
  • Submit reports detailing progress and activities.

Monetary Award and Term Extension
