The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) announced on the 30th that it has received the first edition of poet Yun Dong-ju’s collection Sky, Wind, Stars, and Poetry. The edition, a 1948 print, was donated by an anonymous benefactor. It includes 31 poems from Yun’s original handwritten manuscript, which was given to him by his friend, Jeong Byeong-wook, a well-known Korean literature scholar. KAIST plans to display the collection at its art museum for students and faculty to view.
GIST Holds Special Committee Meeting to Promote Integrity
The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) held the 2nd Special Committee for Improving Integrity on the 26th to promote awareness of integrity and anti-corruption efforts. The meeting, which was attended by President Lim Gi-cheol and key committee members, including Kim Hee-sam, Lee Jae-young, Jeon Sang-hoon, Oh Seung-hee, and Lee Deuk-jin, focused on measures to enhance integrity. Following the meeting, GIST plans to develop a comprehensive integrity plan for 2025.
KIPO and Ministry of Environment to Support Green Startups
The Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) announced a new collaboration with the Ministry of Environment to support promising green startups in the field of climate technology. In 2025, KIPO will link its public patent technology program with the Ministry’s eco-startup support initiative. This project aims to identify and assist entrepreneurs and startups with innovative ideas in the green industry, helping to enhance their technology and business development.
National Gwacheon Science Museum to Offer Special Education Program
The National Gwacheon Science Museum will offer a special science education program from January 14 to February 7. The program will include 62 classes across 20 different courses, such as information technology, thematic exploration, experimental science, and creative learning. The museum will also offer an advanced artificial intelligence course, developed in collaboration with KT, and introduce a new class called “Play Science,” which teaches scientific concepts through theater.
